The Goods entering Russian domestic market must meet certain quality and safety criteria. They must undergo the conformity confirmation procedure, according to the results of which the applicant (importer) receives either Conformity Certificate or Certificate of State Registration from an accredited certification body, or independently register a Declaration of Conformity based on the results of tests performed. Further special marking should be applied to the products, which includes the information provided by the Technical Regulations, as well as the EAC (Eurasian Conformity) mark.
Unified technical safety requirements are in force on the territory of all countries of the Eurasian Economic Union – EAEU (Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan).
The customs authorities in the Russian Federation responsibly control the presence and correctness of imported products marking and, upon discovering any violations, open an administrative case against importers and often seize goods in case of incorrectly applied labeling or its absence.
Over the past few years the number of administrative cases has increased significantly, which hinders the development of imports and leads to financial losses for importers. According to analysts, the emerging trend will continue, and customs control will be tightened, which helps state regulatory authorities to suppress attempts to import counterfeit products into Russia.
Besides only a small number of foreign suppliers are ready to correctly label the products to be delivered to the Russian Federation.
The specialists of Importo are ready to provide assistance and consultations, as well as to implement a full range of measures related to the confirmation of the conformity of foreign goods to the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (product certification).
It is important to understand that Conformity Certificates and Declarations of Conformity issued by authorized bodies of countries outside the EAEU are not valid on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The entire conformity assessment procedure must be carried out with the participation of certification bodies and testing laboratories accredited by the EAEU member states.
